CESCR calls for written contributions to its draft Rules of procedure under the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights (ICESCR)
The Committee on Economic, Social and Cultural Rights is revising its Rules of Procedure under the Optional Protocol to the e ICESCR. This revision includes the
Procedures for the consideration of individual communications received under the Optional Protocol. Proceedings under the inquiry procedure of the Optional Protocol and Inter-State communications procedure
are not being revised at this stage.
The Committee, through its Working Group on Individual Communications, has prepared a draft revision to its Rules of Procedures available at the link below. By way of public consultation, the Committee invites interested individuals and organizations, including States, national human rights institutions, civil society organizations, academics, international and regional organizations and experts, to make a written contribution to the draft rules of procedures.
How to submit a written contribution?
- Prepare a written contribution in one of the Committee’s working languages – English, French or Spanish. (The Secretariat will not be in a position to translate the written submissions.)
- Limit the written contribution five pages.
- Send the written contribution, in
Word format, to
firstname.lastname@example.org indicating in the subject “Written contributions – Draft Rules of Procedure of CESCR”.
- Before the deadline –15th August 2021.
The Working Group on individual communications will study the contributions and will revise the draft which will then be presented to the Committee for further consideration and subsequent adoption.
