30th anniversary of the UN Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery
In 2021, the UN Voluntary Trust Fund on Contemporary Forms of Slavery will mark its 30th anniversary, providing an opportunity to:
- reflect on the contribution of the Fund to the anti-slavery movement;
- promote grantees’ achievements to transform the lives of thousands of victims of slavery worldwide; and to
- engage stakeholders in order to increase synergies and mobilize further support.
The campaign will be launched during the September UN Human Rights Council session, through a global webinar jointly convened with the UN Special Rapporteur on Contemporary Forms of Slavery.
A social media campaign and other events will be rolled out over the following months celebrating stories of resilience of slavery survivors, innovative treatment approaches of practitioners and the global plight to put an end to the practice.
